The kids have spoken! They want more graphic novel options in all of our classroom libraries. I am teaming up with my team English teacher to incorporate graphic novel book clubs in my classroom. Students will be able to choose their graphic novel top picks, and then share a reading experience with their peers in daily book clubs. This can carry over into math where they can share out what they are reading in different classes.
Your donation to this project gives students a choice in reading, and it reinforces the idea that reading matters in all classrooms. Because I am the math teacher, students get a chance to see me as a reader, and then I get to also encourage them to read through this book club project. Many of the titles that were chosen for this project will be new for students, thus exposing them to different reading options.
I cannot wait to share thank you package images and notes from students who got to pick their graphic novel book club book!
