The students I work with rarely feel like they belong anywhere, whether it's with the rest of the school population in the school or at home. My hope is to make a setting for them where they can take ownership of their learning because they feel like they are respected and listened to. The connections I have made with them is just the beginning. These connections have shown me how much they appreciate small things like comfortable balance chairs and fidget toys. Listening to them I understand how large books are intimidating but short stories are much easier to tackle.
Your donations will show my students that I am not the only person who cares about them, respects them, and wants the best for them. I have set up my classroom the best I can with the resources that I have, but they deserve so much more.
