I teach twenty 8-to-11 year olds with a variety of intellectual, physical, and sensory impairments in a Title 1 Elementary school. Although some of my students have to deal with serious challenges (e.g. brain cancer, Autism, Intellectual disability, and PTSD), they all have a love for learning and want to do well in life. School is a safe haven of joy, personal development, and inclusion.
We celebrate inclusion in the classroom and throughout the school campus.
My ultimate goal for my twelve students is helping each student gain the skills they need to communicate and achieve their personal and academic aspirations. We focus on teaching literacy through reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Math literacy is also a keystone in my work with them.
