Let's give these kindergarten students real world news that helps them not only grow their minds, but keeps them connected to the world in a kid friendly way. Time for Kids is a magazine that they will be able to read! All the students will be able to read the pictures and work on reading the words with a family member. In addition, I will be able to work with them to understand it virtual and connect our learning standards to it in kindergarten.
Students will look forward to receiving this magazine each week. This will be a reading tool that they will call their own. By the end of the school year, they will have a collection of real world stories. So many of my students need materials that will help them grow as a reader at home. Many parents ask for resources that they can use to help their child learn to read. I can't think of a better resource to share than one that is age appropriate and shares current events in a kid friendly way.
