My high school is part of an amazing community. To live in this snow filled mountain town you must enjoy the outdoors, maintain a healthy life style and love the small town feel. Our community is very involved in education and youth development with numerous business and community members supporting our local schools. Students are proud they live in his town and attend this high school. The ethnic makeup of my school is 34% Hispanic; 1% African American; 62% Caucasian and 3% Other. We have a large population of AP classes and honors classes. We offer an English Language Development class as well as several different Special Education classes. We have about 90 students in Special Education ranging from Special Day class to Resource classes. Though we have a large population of students in AP classes we also have a large percent of students reading below grade level. Though I want my reading nook to be available for all learners, I specifically want to target the below grade level reader.
