The quote "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops," by Henry Brooks Adams is held near and dear to my heart. When I think back to all the amazing educators I had growing up and still am introduced to who showed me by example how to not only read, write, and complete arithmetic, but how to act, deal with life's problems, and to overcome challenges, Adams words ring in my mind of how my eternity has been shaped by these people.
I absolutely love my job as a teacher, and am so excited to start teaching a new grade: kindergarten! I work at a Title I school with the majority being disadvantaged children, and I revel in the day to day lessons we achieve, both academically and socially! My hope is to touch at least a few of my students' lives to the point that I can affect and influence them for the better for the rest of their eternity.
