Our wonderful students come to school excited to communicate, ready to learn and put in full effort every single day. Our classroom teachers work extremely hard to incorporate a variety of learning strategies and learning options to overcome language deprivation, support dual language acquisition and promote healthy Deaf identities. We would like to support our students' families as well!
Help us promote Family Communication and Literacy Development for our Deaf students.
We plan to support our students, and families by developing an interactive program that encourages dual language literacy and communication in the home.
We will create literacy kits that include a variety of ASL, English and Heritage language materials. Students will be able to take turns bringing home the literacy kits and learn ASL & English with their families.
