I have 22 fifth grade gifted students. Though my students are classified as gifted they still get intimidated by the rate in which they have to learn as we cover the regular curriculum in addition to out gifted curriculum. So, though they are capable of learning quickly, they are not necessarily strong in all academic areas and don't always understand the material quickly if it is just taught from a book. By approaching teaching from a different perspective (incorporating art, hands on, technology, creativity) I can reach all types of learners and they can feel successful all the time!
