I am a special education teacher who teaches both self contained and ICT math classes. I use a variety of tools to stimulate critical thinking skills and classroom discussions. As a teacher I use Khan Academy as a supplemental math learning tool. Data has shown that it is a program that has been recognized to help students with special needs. Our school uses Envision Math which relies heavily on technology. Having the requested 11 laptops/tablets will allow them more time to remediate and practice skills in areas where extra support is needed. Also, some of my students do not have access to laptops at home and having the extra laptops in the building can help them catch up.
