I teach 6th and 7th graders in rural Appalachia. I receive very few materials for my science classes (we get NO money for supplies). This requires a tremendous amount of materials and supplies that I never have enough money to purchase; including consumables, new items and additional curriculum.
Our classroom is really a "regular" classroom masquerading as a science lab/classroom. They installed a demo table and left it at that. We have only one sink and four outlets in the room. This makes it extremely hard to do any lab with 20-28 students and when you have no money for supplies, it compounds the problem!
We really appreciate anything donors can do to help make educating the students of WV a bit more interesting, more fun and easier!!
