I teach at a small public school with a very big heart and big expectations for all children. Often the children need so much more than academics. They need trust, hands on experiences, patience and unconditional love. I refer to my class as " my kids" because in reality I treat them like I do my own. When they come in hungry I feed them, When they tell me they can't do their homework because they don't have crayons, I make sure they get them. I think about them and their desire to learn and the curiosity that fills their hearts and this is why I continue to teach at my school. It is home.
