This coming school year all of my classes will take part in the First Tech Challenge Robotics Competition, which will allow students to gain the skills needed to prepare them for careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. These students will learn about robotics design, Engineering Design, Problem Solving, and Programming in Java. We would like to be competitive with other veteran teams that have many resources and funds that allow them to built awesome robots. Having a 3D printer is a tool that most veteran teams have. Students will learn how to create robot parts on the computer using Autodesk Inventor or AutoCad. These design skills will be useful as these students prepare for college.
Students who take part in the First programs have access to scholarships to help pay for college. My overall goal is to show my students that STEM careers is where the future is going and they will be able to pave the way for their future through my courses. Having access to the First Scholarships will help allow my students to achieve their career goals.
