I would like to link Algebra to the real world by using cross-curricular projects to incorporate Art and Science in their math lessons. Students need supplies to be able to complete these projects. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they can connect the lesson to real life. They will complete the Parabola unit where the finished project is Science related and displayed on poster board. Also, they will complete a unit with graphing Functions where the finished project on poster board is crossed with Art.
