My students are very excited about learning and try their best to be the best second graders they can be. They are silly, inquisitive, smart, little people. They surprise me every day with their antics and how much they know about the world. Our school is in the "homeless" corridor of downtown Las Vegas, and some of my students have difficult home lives with absent parents and lots of brothers and sisters. Some worry about where their dinner is going to come from, but they leave it all at the door to learn.
