I purchased two of these last year to try out in the two classrooms I taught in. Most people, let alone kids, do not like to sit down for long periods of time. Bouncy Bands allow kids to stretch their feet and legs and keep them busy and focused while learning. The science behind these bands are based on the Yerkes-Dodson law where people perform their best when at medium energy level. When my special education students are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or hyperstimulated they can use these bouncy bands to exert their energy and help them calm down. Similarly, when children are feeling bored and underwhelmed, students can bounce on the bands causing an engagement of nerve endings at the bottom of their feet to get them back on track.
