I have 22 sixth-grade students that have come to me from all over the world. I have students from Washington, Thailand, Samoa, Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, Somalia, and several other countries. My school is located near apartments that support refugees and that makes us an incredibly diverse elementary school.
I have a mix of general education, special education, and students who are learning to speak English. I am working hard to teach my students how to reason and problem solve. We are also working on developing social skills and self-worth. Our focus is on internal motivation and My constant goal is to develop lessons and activities that are engaging and inspire students to challenge themselves.
