At my elementary school my students are all in general eduction classes, but each one of them has a disability that qualifies them for special education. They spend the majority of their school day in general eduction classes, and come to me for support and remediation. They are by far some of my most favorite people in the world because they demonstrate the life skills of perseverance, integrity and face their challenges with open minds and willingness to work hard in order to succeed. My students are active members in their learning and they often learn strategies that will help them to adapt to their disabilities so that they may be as successful as all of the other students in our school.
