I teach in an urban, Title I school in Massachusetts. The majority of my students are Hispanic, with their native language being Spanish. Fifth grade is departmentalized at my school and I have the honor to teach ELA (Reading/Writing) with Social Studies embedded, to all students. I have such unique learners and they surprise me each and every day! I want to help foster their love for reading and writing. Literacy is such a passion of mine and I want to be able to provide my students with the very best literacy instruction to help them grow as modern readers and writers. With limited resources, exposing students to new books and multi-media instruction is difficult. My students are so beautifully unique, and enhance classroom discussions with their diverse background knowledge. I absolutely adore the students I teach and wish to provide them the very best fifth-grade ELA experience as possible!
