Welcome to Primary Autism!
My name is Melissa Gleason and I am the Primary Autism teacher at Franklin Elementary, located in Tacoma, Washington. My class is composed of students diagnosed with Autism. My class is composed of students ranging from 5 years old to 8 years old. In our classroom, we have a variety of interest and skill levels. My kids are all significantly below grade level on an academic level but work their hardest to learn and demonstrate their learning! All of my students love school and exploring new things. These students are very creative, visual, and enjoy using manipulatives. Often students with autism see the world in a different way than most other people. I love my kids and I want to be able to satisfy their sensory integration needs throughout the day. These items will allow me and my staff to imbed sensory activities in our normal class time. I currently have 10 students and two assistants
