Our Band students will be given the opportunity to see the city of Seattle, perform in a National Music Festival with positive, constructive feedback from a panel of three adjudicators. We will also be able to visit the Pacific Science and Pop Culture museums for more STEAM experiences.
Our performance will include a harbor cruise to Tillicum Village for
awards ceremony and dinner show filled with culture and fun!
The experience of performing for adjudicators and musical peers is the pinnacle of band performance. Knowing that the experience will allow our students to receive feedback from them makes for a highly rewarding and educational experience. It is so very different from the other forms of performance offered to the students in our community.
In a society where learning empathy and making personal connections is a challenge, where poverty holds children back from achieving their full creative potential, I believe it is important to open their minds to the depth of interaction they can have through the Performing Arts. I hope you can help me make this possible for my students. Thank you so much!
