I want my students to enjoy reading. I did not enjoy reading when I was younger, and it wasn't until I was in high school that I found a genre I liked and found books that I really enjoyed to read. I do not want my students to wait until high school to figure out what they love to read. These materials will help that to happen by giving them something fun and interesting to read. There are books of different genres and covering different topics. There is something for everyone. Reading can help spark ideas and questions in students, those questions can lead to student-lead projects and learning in the classroom. Books are also a great way to get away for a little bit and discover a whole new world, and for some students, reading is their safe haven.
