The trend in classrooms is to offer flexible seating. Kindergarten students need to move their bodies, not just sit at a table to learn. I would like to offer my students different options for seating, such as scoop chairs, ball chairs, pillows, go anywhere chairs and motion stools.
Research shows that students are more engaged in learning when the option of flexible seating is available. The students would have the choice of sitting at the table or one of the flexible seating options listed. Having a choice, lets the student be in charge of their learning; therefore, they are more engaged.
