I teach Band at Dublin Middle School in Dublin, GA. My students are very dedicated and passionate about music, but funding is often an issue. With the exception of a few, many of these students are using school provided instruments, which means they can't keep to practice over long breaks, and they are not of the best quality and often have to be repaired, leaving the student without an instrument.
