My students would love some new art and making supplies that will help them utilize the design thinking model. Students will research and investigate a design that they would like to create with the Fimo clay. Then they will create a design specification sheet to help them plan what they want to make. Next comes the making and creating of the clay model. Finally, my students will evaluate their creations based on the task specifications.
Giving kids the ability to design and create their own hands-on work gives them enthusiasm for education and a love of learning. I hope that by allowing my students to innovate and get better at working with their hands, they will be better prepared for high school and future life experiences.
