We need fiction and nonfiction leveled books to continue developing their love of reading and become successful readers.
Research supports the notion that in order for students to be successful in reading, they need enormous amounts of time for actual reading and access books. I implement reading workshop in my classroom.
During reading workshop, I provide my students with ample time for actual self selected reading at their level to foster their love of reading. They need access to lots of books they can read with high levels of accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.
My students will be excited to have a classroom library filled with an abundance of books of different genres and topics. They will enjoy their independent reading time greatly because they will have access to books that of high interest to them. I believe the access to these books will help my students develop into avid and successful readers.
