The snack items that I am requesting will be used as incentives for my students. Since I've been teaching 5th graders for 20 + years, I know that rewards, especially in the form of snacks and other food items, are definitely a hit! Also, throughout the day, students get hungry. It is my goal to have snacks on hand to give them during recess or after school, so that hunger will not interfere with academic learning. By donating to this project, you will be helping to ensure that my students will have an opportunity to fulfill their earned rewards and to satisfy their hunger. Studies show that students are able to concentrate and focus better when they are not hungry and not have to worry about being able to afford snacks. The snacks will be used as incentives for good classroom behavior, homework completion and responsibility.
