Studies suggest that reading is the best indicator of learning and intelligence. With that in mind, we need books that students are excited about checking out and reading. Manga and graphic novels are the most requested type of book in our media center. The books we are requesting are either student requests or age-appropriate suggestions from others in the field. Manga and graphic novels can also help our non-English speaking students to read more and learn English while doing it. We are excited to be able to offer this to our students!
