The students in my class all have variety of different needs. We have grades TK, Kinder and First; and all have different needs to make class time enriching and purposeful for them.
We meet these needs by splitting up into small groups for focused math and reading work, then joining together for whole group instruction. During small group time we need to have activities that keep all of our students interested while still meeting state standards and allowing them to learn from what they are doing.
We believe that all of our students are capable of learning math, reading, and science, and we make sure to let them know how proud we are of their successes every day.
Since I became a teacher of a special needs students, my number one goal has been to do whatever I can to help them learn the skills they need to lead independent lives.
