In 3rd grade, students make the remarkable transition from learning to read to reading to learn. For this reason, I want to provide my students with an abundance of books in our classroom library to increase literacy. At this age, students read several books a week, so it would resourceful to have a large variety of high-interest books available in our room. Book series such as "I Survived", "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", "Amelia Bedelia", etc., will help to achieve this! This variety of children's literature will help to ignite an excitement in my students to read as many books as possible! I'm thrilled to create a classroom environment that encourages students to learn with choice. Flexible seating options allow students to collaborate and be comfortable while learning. I hope to furnish my class with stools, exercise balls, lap desks, floor pillows, etc. These seating options will help to build our classroom community.
