We have made quite a few arts & crafts projects from scratch in the classroom at History Club, many of the materials coming from our personal teacher craft stashes and purchased by teachers. We recently collaborated with the Art & Dance Departments at our school to create an amazing Dia de los Muertos celebration event. The students created amazing decorations and an altar to celebrate the lives of family and friends to be remembered.
We are asking for donations to help fund our upcoming history project with Art in History Kits!
These interactive kits are incredibly accurate and so fun. The students really take pride in their work, so it would be incredible to have their work on display in the classroom for future students or to take them home as a memory of all the fun we have had! Our students have been incredibly excited to create artifacts at our after school program, but fundraising for such a large group has proven to be difficult.
Despite the various challenges our students face, having an outlet after-school to supplement their learning has been an incredible experience for both the students and us as teachers and we are excited to create with them!
