My school is one of the best kept secrets around. When you enter our building, you find dedicated teachers and students that love one another, and love to teach and learn. We are a Title I, low income school. The majority of our students are African Americans, although the population is very diverse. Often times, we find that our students come to us needing much more than the math or reading lessons planned for that day. Some need more than others, but a lot of them just need our love. The school hours are much longer than most, as our students enter the building at 7:00am and most of them do not leave until after 5:00pm. We have an after school program that runs from 2:30pm - 6:00pm, in which students engage in extracurricular activities and academic activities. Our students are also fed breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When you enter our building, you can feel the difference that is being made, not only in the lives of the students, but in lives of those of us that teach them as well!
