All children learn differently, and I want to offer them other alternatives than sitting at a desk all day. I teach in a lows, socioeconomic elementary school, where many parents struggle to make ends meet.
My classroom is filled with 16 bubbly, sweet, and ready-to-learn six and seven year olds, and I want to ensure they are coming to a classroom each day that is safe, comfortable, and conducive to their learning styles and needs.
As their teacher, I cannot control their home life, but I can do my best to make sure each day at school is positive and memorable for them. I am asking for soft pillows, a soft seat, child-sized sofa and chairs, and bean bags to create an inviting, creative and comfortable environment where my students can read, learn, and explore.
