Many of my students have needs for stimulation. When students do not get the extra stimulation needed, they become bored or overwhelmed with learning. The wobble stools will serve as a movement motivator so students can quietly engage in extra stimulation while focusing on their learning. The brain breaks activity dice will help all of my students take a quick break in learning so they can get out some movement instead of sitting all day. Once they move a bit they will be more engaged with what we are learning.
All of these items will be completely new to my students and I want them to have the opportunities to have fun while learning that I did not have as a student. The Magna-Tiles and Q-BA-MAZE will serve as STEM activity centers during my soft start mornings where students can work on fun activities while waiting for the bell as well as for early finishers during Science blocks. My students need more exposure to engineering and many have a passion for it. I want to support them as they grow in their specific skills.
The spinning wheel will be used to aid in making social studies and science lessons more interactive and engaging. My students will be able to formulate questions to add to the wheel for checks for understanding and students are more engaged in learning when they become a part of it.
