Hello! I am Miss Shoemaker, a new teacher who is committed to teaching to the whole student. With this commitment comes the belief that all content areas must be integrated into the classroom on a regular basis; this includes social studies, math, science, language arts, art, music, physical education, technology, and any/all disciplines within those broader content areas. Through including all subject areas in the curriculum, I have already been able to see the difference in my students' knowledge and their enthusiasm for learning. Recently, a student told me, "Because you taught us to how to code Miss Shoemaker, I now want to be a video game designer and I didn't even know that was a job before." This is the goal, for them to explore new possibilities and content, and, as a result, find what they are passionate about.

About my class
