Glow Germ and griddles...what a combination!
Two of the most important parts of cooking are sanitation and measuring.
Sanitation is so important when we talk about food and consumption. The Glow Germ kit is an interactive way for students to see the value behind proper hand washing and sanitary areas. Especially in light of the current state of the world, I think this kit would be a huge asset to my students learning!
Measuring impacts all other things and we practice this skills throughout all of our labs, but an especially fun way to kick off the measuring unit is with a pancake lab.
During the pancake lab, students will measuring and make pancakes and syrup. We also take time to discuss and identify the functions of each ingredient in our recipe. Griddles can also be used in life skills for making grilled cheese sandwiches and omelets.
