I work at a Title One School where all the students receive free breakfast and lunch based on their family’s income. Although we are considered a high poverty school, we are also a high academic performing school. This is due in large part to the hard work of students, teachers, parents, and staff. In order to continue on this path to success, both students and teachers need the supplies needed to do so.
This being said, asking parents to donate items is not always feasible, so teachers rely on using their own money, or using what the school has to offer to fill classes with necessary materials. Unfortunately, with budget cuts each year, money has to be spread thinly and we don’t always have the supplies needed.
This is where generous people like you can help. Any donation, big or small, can make a difference in a classroom like mine. Both my students and myself thank you in advance.
