My classroom consists of amazing first-grade students, all with varying strengths. The majority of my students come from lower socioeconomic statuses, but all have demonstrated resiliency in some sort of way. At our school, we focus on the arts and how we can become successful members of our global society. A personal focus in my classroom is teaching my students about how they can help others, even as first-grade students. The empathy that my students are able to show others is astounding!
