In Humanities 9, my students explore history and literature side by side to better understand the world and their place in it. This class blends U.S. History and English Language Arts, allowing students to read, write, and think critically about the origins of the United States and what it means to be American. Using engaging mentor texts, primary sources, and diverse perspectives, students learn how language, identity, and power have shaped our nation.
My students are curious, thoughtful, and eager to connect past struggles and triumphs to the issues they see in their communities today. They deserve access to high-quality resources that make history come alive and empower them to use their voices in meaningful ways.
