I want to create a reading corner in my classroom where students can feel comfortable and at home, while providing them books (both non-fiction and high-quality children's literature) that will help them explore and learn more about the world around them.
My school doesn't have a library, so it's important for me to provide a variety of books that students can read. I am asking for some seating, a rug, and a collection of books to start my reading corner. These books were chosen because of the way they can be used across the curriculum, to teach science and social studies through literacy. I want my students to be inquirers-- to have a spark of curiosity and love of learning that will drive our classroom experience.
