My students come from a very low-income neighborhood. Some of their families are intact, some of them are not. Though we give them breakfast and lunch at school, they may not all have a full dinner. They may come to school with a stain left on their shirt from the previous day. These children have good days and bad days, but they all want to be loved. I try to bring out the happiness in them as much as possible and they are very eager to learn. They love coming to school. Our school is very warm and inviting. We always celebrate successes and have a lot of holiday celebrations. We always give out rewards for positive behavior and educational successes. Our school strives to see each student succeed, and my goal each day is to reach, teach, and inspire each and every child I interact with.
