These students have faced many challenges in their young lives, dealing with family problems, underprivileged environments, and language difficulties along with the hurdles of everyday academia. They are kind, funny, and optimistic and they are proud of the Los Angeles charter school they attend. Most of them dislike reading, but I'm sure that with the right books they will change their minds.
