Technology literacy is currently an essential skill today. Children need to grow up with technology in order to be technologically aware and literate. Most students grow up with technology so it is not a problem for most.
However, most of my students do not have access to technology at home for financial reasons. The community around my school is a very low income area. I hope to use this technology as an aid in my lessons and helping my students become technologically literate.
Using these Fire tablets will allow me to differentiate their learning a little more. This will allow me to reach every student no matter what their level.
There are many apps that would help my students learn the materials at their level. So, for example, some students may be adding up to 10 while others will be adding double digit numbers. Also, there are many apps where I can track where each student is for different learning targets.
