These various tactile toys will help so many of my students regulate their sensory needs independently. Some may need the tactile stimulation of feeling various textures or squeezing things to relieve stress when they feel overwhelmed, while others may be calmed by the visual stimuli.
Having these items available for my students with special needs could make their very first learning experience a positive one that they enjoy rather than dread.
Once they feel calm, then they can be ready to learn and not shut down. I want my students to be able to have the accommodations they need in order to be successful.
