My first priority is to provide my students with the developmentally appropriate materials to help them be successful. As a first year teacher, this has been a constant struggle. I teach at a Title I school where majority of our students did not have the opportunity to attend preschool.
100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch, and most students receive food bags for the weekend. Despite these hardships, my students are enthusiastic and try their best every day! My students walk into our classroom every day with big smiles on their faces, eager to learn. They genuinely want to be at school because they realize we have a strong community where we help each other learn and grow.
