My students are the brilliance behind the machine in our classroom. 100% of my students are from low socioeconomic households. Large percentages of my students are survivors of abuse and neglect. Most of my students have experienced or are still experiencing housing and food insecurity. My students give the best hugs. It is not unusual for students to be arrested and in jail over the weekend for possessions of weapons or drugs. My students are street smart problem solvers that can find as many details as you can imagine from one paragraph. My students are intentional. Given the child poverty rate in Cincinnati being the lowest in the country, my students are warriors that show up to school because they want to. My students show up to school to learn, love their teachers, and share their stories. My students above all are my inspiration and my whole heart.
