I work in a school with about 600 students from grades Kindergarten to 5th grade. About 58% of our school population is part of the free/reduced price lunch program, 9% of our students are English Language Learners (ELL), and large numbers of our students are in the Title I program. As many physical education teachers would probably agree, children in today's world do not get enough physical activity.
When it comes to my class, students are expected to participate in the full 45 minutes to the best of their abilities. My goal as an educator is to teach my students different activities that they could potentially participate in for lifelong wellness.
