Children today have grown up in a world where there has always been technology. They have never known a world that didn't include cell phones, laptops, and gaming systems. Schools can't afford all of the updates and technology that will help push these students.
In my 2nd grade classroom, I have a wide spectrum of students. I have students at all learning levels from gifted to special needs. I have English Language Learners as well as students who need extra intervention in reading and self-esteem. I also have "average" families with the mom, dad, two kids, and pets, to the lower income families where they face many obstacles and have only one provider.
