I serve as a Reading Specialist for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students with unique personalities that make my teaching experience with them truly rewarding. They are artists, readers, writers, scientists, mathematicians, musicians and so much more. Among all of these, they have amazed me with their sincere love for reading and writing. They possess a natural curiosity about the world and their place in it, and I enjoy using books and the art of language to open their eyes to new ideas and ways of getting to the heart of who they are and who they desire to be.
Our middle school serves a diverse group of 1,168 students from various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. We are committed to the success of every child that attends our school, but limited resources can be a challenge for classroom teachers and an injustice to our students.
