We are requesting iPads and OSMO kits to encourage exploration in STEM activities. This project will help me individualize instruction and foster interest and knowledge of STEM related tasks. OSMO has different activities that encourage problem solving and higher order thinking. Coding, Newton, and Tangrams will help develop logical and mathematical thinking. Numbers will help my students with math facts. The majority of my students are black or Hispanic, races that are underrepresented in STEM related fields.
The majority of my students come from low-income families and do not have access to this type of educational learning outside of school. Students will have the opportunity to use the equipment every day multiple times a day.
