My class is in a dedicated kindergarten/preschool building so we have the advantage of doing many activities geared only to early childhood skill sets. This is great because everything we do is on their level and can be enjoyed by the whole school.
My class is a self-contained special education class of children with behavior disorders. The reasons for their behavior ranges from organic issues such as ADHD-H and true emotional problems stemming from poor home and family environments. Due to the nature of the classroom, we are very much like a family. My staff and I are truly their school parents and we take that role very seriously. I try to give them everything I possibly can from great class trips, parties for every holiday imaginable and new and state of the art supplies. However, at the end of the day, my love and support of them is most important and I do love them like I love my own children. I only wish I could afford to give them more.
